How does the process work?

Going to college in the United States as a student-athlete is not just about talent, it’s about understanding the system, preparing properly, and having the right guidance from start to finish.

At Rising Athletes, we take care of every step to make sure athletes and their families feel confident, informed, and supported throughout the journey.

Here’s how the process works, and how we help:

1. INITIAL CALL AND PLAYER EVALUATION

We begin with a personal meeting or video call with the athlete and their family. This is not just about introductions, it’s a real conversation where we get to know the player’s goals, level, academic background, and sport expectations.
We take time to explain how the U.S. college system works, what kind of opportunities are available, and what’s realistically possible based on their current profile. It’s a moment to answer all questions and set a clear goal.

2. VIDEO HIGHLIGHT CREATION

In the U.S. recruiting system, coaches almost always make their first decisions based on video. That’s why we help every athlete cut and edit a professional highlight video. Whether it’s match play or training footage, we ensure the final result shows their game at its best and matches what U.S. coaches expect.

We use modern editing tools and structure the video in a way that catches attention fast, because that’s what makes the difference.

3. ACADEMIC PREP: SAT, TOEFL & GUIDANCE

For most athletes, athletic talent alone is not enough. U.S. universities also require academic tests like the SAT and TOEFL (for English proficiency).

We guide families through these requirements from the beginning:

  • We explain what the SAT and TOEFL are, who needs to take them, and how to register.

Many families are unfamiliar with this part of the process, and that’s exactly why we’re here: to make it simple and achievable.

4. COLLEGE MATCHING & COACH CONTACT

Once the academic and athletic profiles are ready, we start reaching out to coaches at U.S. universities.

We carefully select programs that match the athlete’s level, goals, preferred region, and academic interests.

We present each player professionally, manage communication with coaches, and help athletes understand the offers they receive. We’re not looking for just any scholarship, we aim to find the best possible combination of university and scholarship for each player.

5. UNIVERSITY ADMISSION PROCESS

Once the athlete and family choose the right university, we help them complete the admission process step by step.
That includes:

  • Preparing and sending transcripts

  • Submitting application forms

  • Coordinating with the university’s admission and athletics department

  • Ensuring eligibility and compliance with league rules (NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA)

6. VISA & FINAL PREPARATION

After being accepted by the university, the athlete will receive a document called an I-20, which is needed to apply for a student visa (F-1).

We help prepare everything:

  • Scheduling the visa appointment

  • Filling out the visa forms

  • Practicing common visa interview questions

  • Making sure the athlete feels ready to travel, live, and study abroad

OUR COMMITMENT

At Rising Athletes, we’re more than a service, we’re former student-athletes ourselves. We’ve lived this process from both sides, and we know what it takes to succeed.

Our job is not just to open doors, it’s to walk alongside each athlete and family until they confidently step onto campus in the U.S.

Let’s take the first step together!
